Virginia, and West Virginia.
The class is limited to 110
persons who desire technical
background and formal
trining in the process of rural
development. Participants
will be selected to represent
a broad segment of rural
development leadership.
Inviting applications to
attend the school, Dr. Walter
A. Guntharp, administrator
of USDA’s Rural Develop
ment Service, said rural
leaders are faced with a
greater challenge today than
ever before. Representing a
third of the nation’s people
living on 90 percent of the
land, rural leaders have
unprecedented need for
knowledge and expertise in
the development process in
these changing times, he
added.

Sept. 21, from 1 to 7 p.m.

Lions Club announces that
the Hearing Conservation
Center of Lancaster County
will benefit from the
proceeds. Free hearing tests
will be given at the ox roast.
In order to obtain the large
quantity of fuel required for
the ox roast fire, the Lions
