The Interstate Exchange Program sponsored by Lancaster County 4-H Council is coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service as part of its 4-H Youth Program. 4-H members from ages 13-19 are eligible to participate. Lancaster County has been active in the program for several years. Recent Ex change trips have been conducted with Michigan, lowa, Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky. Aldm Brown, senior photographer for the company, was cameraman. Collins and Brown traveled to Mexico’s developing dairy districts in the mountainous Laguna area for one segment. To get story of a husband and wife farming an island in Lake Ontario, the team flew into the island on a ski-equipped light plane during the winter when coyotes were threatening the couple’s sheep. Other stories included modem cowboys at work in British Columbia; a modem hay pelleting plant m Ohio; and an Alberta community fighting for survival after years of devastating rams and a visit with President Nixon by the Farm Family of the Year.
