Mary Boyce reported on the sunshine work done and said Anna Hershey, Dorthy Harvey, Emily Reath, Nancy Boyce and Mary Bently had birthdays in July. Mrs. Kathryn Wagner of the trip committee reported a successful trip to Nova Scotia. The County Executive meeting picnic will be held August 7 at the Lampeter Fair Grounds. It was voted to give a love gift to the convalescing son of one of the members. Mrs. Nancy Shoemaker conducted a Lancaster County Historical Quiz. The next meeting will be a family picnic to be held at Huffnagle Park in Quarryville August 15th at 6:00 p.m. Society 19 Farm Women Society 19 held its July meeting recently at the Arthur .F. Landis summer cottage, Perry County in the form of a MACHINERY STORAGE State family picnic. Mr. Landis barbecued chicken for the group. An afternoon of fellowship was enjoyed by all. Members of the Society plan a trip to Longwood Gardens July 27 for the evening program. The Society is scheduled to provide an evening of en tertainment and refresh ments August 20 at the Harrisburg State Hospital. Society 24 Farm Women Society 24 met recently at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Wenger, Leola. Mrs. Glenn Shultz, president, conducted the meeting. Mrs. Wenger read Psalms 111 for devotions. Members donated $lOO to the County project and $2O to the Leola Ambulance Association. Karen Snyder, Conestoga Valley and Marilyn Good, Garden Spot received the Society’s Annual Home Economics Awards. Ray Martin received the Vo-Ag award. Plans to attend the County picnic on August 7 were discussed. August 25-27 are the dates for Homemakers Camp at Swatara. A program was given by a Leola Ambulance Crew who gave an informative demonstration on their services and explained how to call for the ambulance. The next meeting will be July 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Mervin and Ruth Hoober Farm, RDI, New Holland. A family picnic is planned.
