1973 was a record year for
Britain's agricultural and
food exports. Approximately
740 million pounds of food
stuffs, animals and
machinery were exported
and the Royal Agricultural
Show is Britain’s shop
window.
Increasing international
participation in the Royal
Agricultural Show has been
a key note in its success. This
July, seven governments
will stage wide ranging
displays of their agricultural
products. Governments
officially participating are
France, German Federal
Republic, New Zealand,
Netherlands, Ireland, Spain
and the Canadian State of
Saskatchewan. In fact many
more countries have
products on show but under
the auspices of their British
agents.
• Specially to help and
welcome strangers to the
Show is the International
Pavilion. Interpreters
covering at least 10
languages are present, and
multi-lingual signs direct
people to important areas of
the Showground. Most in
terpreters are also farmers
Kenilworth.
