Penn miow
4-H Club
The Penn Willow 4-H Club
recently held its monthly
meeting. This meeting was
the annual clean-up of
Conestoga Township roads.
The club with a mem
bership of 97 people, ranging
in age from 8 to 16, cam
paigns once every year to
clean up the roads. About 86
of the 97 members gathered

Crusaders
4-H Horse
Club Formed
Between April 24 and May
17, 1974 the planning and
organizing of a new 4-H
Horse and Pony Club called
the Conestoga Crusaders
was completed.
The new club leader is
Jody Alexander of Deep
Meadow Farm, RDI,
Pequea, where the
Crusaders will meet once a
month. The assistant group
leader is Nancy Jenkins,
RD2, Conestoga.
Officers of the club are as
follows: Margy Alexander,
president; Jackie Shopf, vice
president; Gene Eisen
berger, secretary; Donna
Walton, treasurer; Julie
Jenkins, news reporter;
Joyce Ressler and Dale
Gisenberger, song and game
leaders.
Happy Trail Riders 4-H
The Happy Trail Riders 4-
H Club met last week at the
home of Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Sholly, 902 Miller St.,
Lebanon.
Ten members and the
adult leader, Fred Hoff,
attended. Pam Wunderlich,
president, conducted the
business session. Hoff talked

at the Conestoga Elemen
tary School at 6:30 p.m. on
May 10. The members then
divided into groups. The
contest to collect the most
trash had begun.
The members collected
trash until darkness set in.
Then the trucks, driven by
parents and leaders, took the
trash to the home of A 1 Goss,
a 4-H leader. The trash was
later taken to the Martic
Township Landfill.
The club also had another
activity this month. This was
a hoagie sale. The club sold
over 750 hoagies. The prize
for selling the most hoagies
went to Susan Kleckner who
sold over 100 hoagies.
In both of these activities
the club had a lot of fun,
while also performing a
service for the community.

Helping Hands
The Jonestown Helping
Hands 4-H Club met recently
to pick projects and elect
feeders.

about riding in the Memorial
Day parade May 27. In
surance papers and
enrollment sheets were filled
out. Some of the 4-H project
books were given out.

The Fontana 4-H club
recently met at tbe old
Fontana Schoolhouse.'Adult

secretary; Sandra Zeller,

game leaders.
Mrs. Matylyn Balmer told
the club what the 4-H’s
represent. Mrs. Linda
Eckenrode spoke on tbe
sewing projects. The project
books were handed out.
Four new girls joined the
club. They are Karen Ar
nogost, Kelley May, Joanne
Freed and Audrey
Burkholder. The next
meeting is planned for June 6
at 7:30 p.m.

The members picked foods
and crafts as our project,
and the club will hold a bake
sale May 17.
The next meeting will be in
June at the Bunker Hill
Fellowship Hall.

udders with good quality and easy milk-out. Rear udders are of moderate-,
height and teats are well placed. He is an improver of legs and feet. His
daughters may have somewhat rough rumps as young cattle but they can
be expected to improve with maturity. Rocket is recommended for mating
with short, heavy-set cows for best results.
