Names Nolan Michael Nolan, Columbus, Ohio, has been named a Program Director for Holstein-Friesan Association of America in ’ East ern Pennsylvania ef fective - July 1. He will replace Carl Brown, who has returned to VPI for his PhD. As a Program Director, Nolan will be responsible for the coordination of all Holstein programs and services and the many Pennsylvania Holstein ac tivities. His efforts to coordinate breed activities in Eastern Pennsylvania will involve close work with state boards of directors, major committees and local club officers as well as personal on-the-farm visits and group contacts. Nolan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Nolan, Wakeman, Ohio, will graduate from Ohio State University in June. Born and raised on a Re gistered Holstein dairy farm, Nolan has been active with Holsteins his entire life. He presently owns 25 head. ALUS CHALMERS Active in 4-H, Nolan was first runnerup in the Out standing Ohio Holstein boy contest in 1971 and was on the Junior Association Board Lebanon County Dairy Princess Contest Rules Plans are currently being made for the Third Annual Lebanon County Dairy Princess Contest. The contest will be held on Thursday, June 13 at the Mt. Zion Fire Hall. All eligible girls are invited to compete in the pageant. To be eligible for com petition for the title of Lebanon County Dairy Princess, girls must qualify according to the following rules: 1. Live in Lebanon County. 2. The speaker for the evening was Dean Steinhart, who showed slides of his trip to Russia. The Elizabethtown FFA held their 15th annual “Future Farmers of America” parent and son banquet recently at the Rheems Fire Hall. The officers conducted the opening ceremonies and then proceeded with the dinner. After dinner, the chapter’s advisors Mr. Hess and Mr. Green presented awards and prizes for the outstanding achievements reached by the FFA members. Mem bers receiving awards were: James Rutt for his project book in the state and county, and the Star Chapter Far mer award. James and Kenneth Gruber placed first m the county small engine contest. Tony Cicero placed fourth in the county speech contest. Dwight Martin received trophies for his project record book in the state, the most valuable FFA member, and he also placed fifth m the Lancaster County speech contest. Ronald Forrey received the Star Greenhaiid award and Marlin Gruber received $3O from the Lancaster County Bankers Association for being the outstanding senior. Raymond Dohner received five dollars and Marlon Dohner four dollars for placing first and second in the State FFA tobacco show. He is also active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Choir.
