Miss Kathryn Eichelberger showed slides of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Society 5 will give |lO.OO to Easter Seals, $lO.OO to Cancer Society, $lO.OO to cerebral Palsy and $50.00 to the Dr. Ruth Brenner Fund which will go towards the purchase of a station wagon to carry equipment used to detect heart defects. The station wagon will travel to all parts of Lancaster County. May 2, Society 5 will be entertained by Society 20 at 12:00 noon at the Quarryville Methodist Church. Spring Rally will be held May 8 at the York Fair Grounds. Reservations deadline-April 15. Our next meeting April 27, wll be in the home of Mrs. Mervin Piefer. Dr. Loy Awkerman will be the speaker. Ns® % Society 6 Farm Women 6 met Saturday, April 6, at the home of Mrs. Ray Hixon, 401 Snyder Ave., Elizabethtown. Co-hostesses were Kathryn Miller and Esther Frey. Devotions were led by Katie Brandt who used a poem and scripture for the Easter season. Roll call was answered by giving an Easter scripture verse. It was announced that 12 of the women met at Mrs. Shonk’s home on March 26 and completed about 100 bed pads for use in nursing homes. The society will serve a dinner at Wyeth Laboratories on April 17. On April 18, this society along with number 7 will entertain at Conestoga View in Lan caster. Some members will attend the Service Club Dinner on May 6. This is held annually by the Business and Professional Women’s Club. The Spring Rally will be held in York on May 8. Awards will again be given to the outstanding high school seniors in the fields of Home Economics and Agriculture. The group voted to give $lOO to the county project, which is the Jaycee Camp for Retarded Children. The speaker for the af ternoon was the Rev. Thomas May, Pastor of the local United Methodist Church. He shared thoughts of the crucifixion and resurrection and how they affect our lives. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Harry Shonk, RD4, Manheim, on May 4 at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Nancy Witmer, a member of the Board of the Welsh Mt. Clinic, spoke to the members of Farm Women Society 19 on Saturday, April 6. The group donated $2O to the clinic. The meeting was held at the home of Ruth Martin, YIL _ A Lancaster Farming. Saturday. April 13,1974 Society 19 WeootH Lititz. Opal Euhl presided at the meeting and Mary Hollinger led the devotions. A rummage sale will be conducted on April 29 and 30. On Saturday, April 20 Society 19 will be entertained by Society 3 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Lincoln. The Farm Women of the County will help to support the Jaycee camp for retarded children this year. Society 22 Farm Women Society 22 met Tuesday, April 9, in the home of Mrs. C. Richard Landis, 2306 Horseshoe Road. Twelve members will attend the State Spring Rally at the York Fair Grounds, May 8. After the meeting the society toured the Welsh Mountain Clinic with Mrs. Weaver as guide and speaker. In place of the May meeting members will assemble the society project, the cook book, Dinner Bell, in the home of Mrs. Cloyd Wenger. Society 24 Farm Women Society 24 met recetnly at the home of Mrs.- Calvin Wenger, Glen Moore Circle, Lancaster. Twenty-six members answered roll call with “An Easter Thought.” Mrs. Wenger had devotions. Mrs. Glen Shultz an nounced plans for a Spring Rally to be held May 8 in York. A donation of $2O to the Easter Seal Society was approved. On May 29, members will entertain Society 9 at the Bareville Brethren Church. IS IS IS U* L H.
