The other morning I found
myself in the center of a
small traffic jam as many
hurried parents tried to
unload papers for a
recycling contest. It was the
last day to fill the tractor
trailer with newspapers and
magazines and some
children had gone “all out”
to win.

they had the highest number

It seems there is a lot of

Smart move. Even though the current heating season is nearly
over, it’s not too late (or too soon) to plan greater savings of fuel
and money in the future. Adding insulation to your home is one
of the best things you can do.
Now that the weather’s getting warmer, it’s the perfect time to
check the amount of insulation in your home. If there's a thickness
of less than 6 inches in the attic and 3Vz inches in the walls, it’ll
pay you to add the extra amount needed. Check any spots that
seemed particularly cold this winter, too . . . perhaps they are
areas containing no insulation at ail.
Remember, it takes a lot more fuel to heat an uninsulated home.
No one has energy to waste or money to burn. The way to reduce
fuel costs in the future is to insulate now!

winners in a contest. At this
same meeting people talked
continuously while a group

adult organizations are filled
with members who lack
enthusiasm the same as
school groups who have lost
their competitive spirit.

Tomorrow is Easter and
Judy has promised to make
our candy this year. In fact,
when I saw the prices for
cream-filled eggs I was glad
she offered to make some.
This year Cindy wants to
help with a special cake
shaped like a rabbit which
we decorate and sprinkle
with coconut. The custom of

My married son, who lives
in an apartment, has
acquired a puppy which
gives him many happy
moments and a few bad
ones. They are spending a lot
of time training him to use
that special box on the
balcony.
The other day this puppy
came to our house and
dashed through the door and
immediately was hanging on
the kitchen table with his
front paws. He almost got his
nose in the cherry pie I was
baking. After they ate the pie
I told them what happened.
