USDA, to form a regional emergency disease eradication organization for the northern states. Purpose of the seminar was to explain, assemble and train the new Regional Emergency Animal Disease CALL 354-7481 Eradication Organization (READEO). This group, created and sponsored by USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), was organized to fight foreign animal disease outbreaks on a regional Care For Zippers To keep zippers working in good order, it takes little care. But developing easy care habits takes less time than replacing a broken zipper, reminds Mrs. Ruth Ann Wilson, Extension clothing specialist at The Pennsylvania State University. When there’s a hook and eye at the top of the dress opening, fasten the hook before closing the zipper. Hold the base of the opening firmly so the zipper moves freely and evenly and doesn’t catch on the fabric underneath. Never force a zipper. Mrs. Wilson suggests you close the zipper before hanging a garment in the closet to prevent stretching. Because a zipper is easily broken during laundering, always close it before put ting the garment in the washer. If you put the garment through a wringer, cover the closed zipper with folds of the garment fabric. Before taking clothing to the drycleaner or to a coin operated drycleaning establishment, close all zippers. The old saying, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” is certainly applicable when it comes to caring for zippers. -,i Stihl CHAIN SAWS SPRAYERS MOWERS and TILLERS i>ro—fii ■ Jacobsen Wav Mowers T«ACTC3O* POWER TOOLS - Drills - Grinders - Saber Saws - Hammer Drills - Roto-Hammers KENDALL MOTOR OILS Repair-Overhauls Rentals-Service JohiiL Otauffer REPAIR SERVICE RD2 East Earl, Pa. Fomey said, “Although a plan to cover emergency animal disease outbreaks always existed, a new organizational structure was developed - based on ex periences in recent out breaks such as exotic Newcastle disease of poultry and ornamental birds in southern California. Both state and federal personnel have assigned respon sibilities and this meeting explained those roles.” The Indianapolis meeting was one of five conducted around the country for this purpose. Approximately 100 representatives from 19 states and Washington, D. C. attended the Indianapolis session. Dr. R. E. The regional emergency animal disease organizations proved ef fective in these instances and we are sure our newly formed organization can eradicate any emergency disease outbreak which may occur here.” Q i Shape Up For Summer Do you need to shape up for summer fun and fashion by slim ming down?
