Mrs. Stauffer has been a member of Farm Women Society 17 for 25 years or more. She served as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and on various committees. She is on the program committee for 1975. She is a member of Chestnut Level Presbytemian Church and the Women’s Association. She is a past president of the Women’s Association and is now Interpretation Chairman (World Service). She goes to their Bible Study once a month and teaches it. Sara has bowled in the “Just For Fun’’ league at Strasburg Thursday mornings for three years. Their team came out first the first year she bowled, second last year and were second the first half this year. She is bowling 120 now. Last summer they went to Ten nessee and Kentucky and tented. Mrs. Stauffer has a collection of antique china pieces that she is proud of. Some of the pieces are dated and go back a couple hundred years. Sara liles to read. Besides her crafts she reads a lot of books on religion, politics and mysteries. She gives us her favorite recipes. Liver and Onions Use as much liver as your family needs. Bi'own on both sides to seal. Place in skillet. Top with sliced onions'and mushrooms. Cover meat, etc. with tomato juice diluted with one half to 1 cup water and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Roast at 350 degrees for one to one and a half hours. Brown steak on both sides. Divide in two pieces. Cover one slice with: Mozzarella cheese Sliced onions Mushrooms Parsley flakes Celery flakes Seasonings - your choice Can put filling on top this mixture, if desired. Top with other slice of meat. Slowly simmer until tender in an electric skillet or other covered skillet. E*sy Salad cup drained pineapple chunks cup mandarin oranges pkg. raspberry gelatin cup cottage cheese large (9 ounce) container of whipped topping Mix well and chill. 2 sticks margarine melted 1 bag (13% ounces graham cracker crumbs) 4 eggs 1 cup milk 2 cups granulated sugar 1 cup coconut 1 cup chopped nuts 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 medium can drained crushed pineapple Mix well. Bake in long pan at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. XXX Round Steak Out of This World Cake Lancaster Farming, Saturday, January 19, 1974 Farm Women Societies Society 2 Farm Women Society 2 held their monthly meeting January 12 at Terrace Ceramic Studio, operated by Mrs. Becker of Manheim. Mrs. Sarah Kline and Eva Keener were co-hostesses. Identification was given on molding and painting ceramics by Mrs. Becker. The business meeting was in charge of Elsie Witmer, president. Mrs. Louella Lowe was in charge of devotions. Reports on the State Convention held in Harrisburg on January 7 and 8 were given by Mabel Pinkerton and Mae Donough. A bus trip was discussed for later in the year and the group collected $23 for food for a needy family in Manheim. Six members were cited for perfect attendance in 1973. Each received a gift. They are: Grace Hahn, Elizabeth Shenk, Elsie Witmer, Esther Peticoffer, Eva Keener and Mae Fisher. Martha Brandt received a ceramic basket of flowers as a door prize, from Mrs. Becker. The next meeting of Farm Women Society 2 will be held February 9 at the home of Lillian Eberly,-106 East High Street, Manheim. Society 19 Farm Women Society 19 voted a $25.00 contribution to the Vicki Usner Fund at its January meeting at the home of Mrs. Leroy Hot tenstein, East Petersburg. Mrs. Irvin Denlinger gave some ideas for the new year in her devotions. Following the regular business meeting, Mrs. Harry Mumma and Mrs. Clarence Newcomer gave reports on the State Convention at Harrisburg. Mrs. Kenneth Warfel then turned the gathering into a miscellaneous auction with competitive bidding by the members for the attractive looking baked goods, plants, ceramics, candy, eggs, desserts, etc. which they contributed for the sale. A bus trip to a hockey game at Hershey is planned for February 23. Mrs. Clayton Geib will host the February 9th meeting at the Coca Cola Building. Co-hostess was Mrs. E. Clair Witmer. The speaker for the af ternoon was exchange student Eliane Oleniers from Brazil. A report was given of the State Farm Women Con vention, held during the State Farm Show. The convention was attended by seven menbers. The next meeting will be February 12 in the home of Mrs. Jacob Houser, Jr., when the speaker will be Dr. Charles L. Deardorff, Jr. of the St. Josephs Hospital Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance. Society 25 Farm Women Society 25 met Saturday, Jan. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Welsh Mountain Clinic where they were greeted by Nancy Witmer. A tour was made of the clinic building and the background and present use of the facility was explained to the 15 members and one guest present. A short business meeting was conducted by Arlene Esbleman and devotions were led by Emma Goss. Three members had perfect attendance during 1973. They were Helen Metz, Ann Boose, and Mary Roland. Committee reports were given and it was reported that 27 pairs of mittens or gloves and $3.00 cash were given to the Extension Service in December. The next meeting will be held Saturday, February 9, 1974 at the Grace Evangelical Church, Kready Avenue, Millersville, with Bea Newswanger as hostess.
