Akers interests are in dairy farming and he has participated in many dairy shows from the local to state level. He was a member of the first place dairy cattle judging team from Penn sylvania which placed third in national competition, winning him a gold medal. - His projects consists of registered Holstein dairy cattle and veal. Bob attended the National FFA convention as a member of Pennsylvania’s Milk Judging Team. He was the winner of the 1973 Jaycee steer award. At the State FFA Convention last summer he earned a trip to the Atlantic Rural Exposition as a member of the state livestock | judging team. Bob has been a consistent winner with his lambs at local and state shows. He showed the champion pen of market lambs at the 1973 Ephrata Fair. His far ming program includes market lambs, market hogs, steer, field corn and vegetable garden. As a member of the Future Farmers of America, Kevin Martin was Parlimentarian in his sophmore year, vice president of the Oxford Chapter in his junior year, and is currently serving as student advisor. He has also been elected president of the Chester County Association. Kevin has received awards as Star Greenhand in ninth grade, Dairy Proficiency in eleventh grade, and the school award for an underclassman with the highest scholastic achievement in a vocational field in eleventh grade. Kevin has gained a great deal of practical knowledge, being a partner in the farming operation by agreement. He had done nearly every type of field work for five years on their 150 acres, has helped care for 95 Holsteins, and has done a great deal in several types of building con struction on the farm. He was also a member of 4-H for three years, showing dairy cattle and holding the office of treasurer for one year. He is also an active member in his church youth group. After graduation Kevin intends to continue far ming in partnership with his father. David E. Shuman, son of Rev. and Mrs. John A. Shuman, is presently vice president of the Little Dutchmen FFA chapter of Annville-Cleona High School. He also serves as president'of the Lebanon County FFA chapter. Shuman Little Dutchmen Chapter attended the National PFA Leadership Training Conference held in Washington, D. C. Included in his FFA projects are a three year supervised work experience program on a 90 acre truck farm owned by Harold R. Frey of Lebanon RDS. Along with the major crops of sweet corn, cabbage, cantaloupes and potatoes, the operation included a farm market, 4500 laying hens and 300 feeder pigs. Dean Hoover Little Dutchmen Chapter DeanX.
