Art Hershey, Jim Shaw and David Weaver were elected as new directors for a three-year term. Les High, Youth Chairman, presented the following awards to the youths excelling in 4-H Dairy Shows throughout the year. The first year member award went to Alan Mason. Junior Division Award to Carol Yeager and Senior Division award to Steve Mason. Wendy Shaw received Grand Championship Award and Barry Hostetter had Reserve Championship. The Junior Showman-Fitter Award was captured by Susan Pepple and Stanley Guest received the Senior Showman-Fitter Award. Joyce Weaver’s Holstein brought her the Milk Production Award. State Director, John Umble, brought the members, up to date on what is happening on the State Association. He announced that April 5, 1974 was date for the State Calf Sale and urged the members to participate. The regular bi-monthly directors meeting was held at Don Hostetter’s, Sadsburyville, Lancaster Farming, Saturday, December 22,1973 Bit and Bradoon 4-H’ers Schedule Field Trip The Bit and Bradoon 4-H Club held their December meeting at Manor View Acres. A Christmas party was planned for the week after Christmas. Last minute details were discussed and committees were assigned. At the beginning of the meeting the secretary’s and treasury reports were read and project reports were recited by each member of the Club. A field trip to Wood Gait Farm on December 12. Don Hostetter was reelected president at this time. Other officers are vice president, James Shaw; secretary-treasurer, Bob Pepple; sales representative, Don Hostetter: Youth chairman, Les High; news reporter, Art Her shey; and show chairman, Newton Evans.
