—Lancaster Farming. Saturda 28 ( Farm Women j I Societies Society 4 Farm Women society 4 met Saturday, October 29 at the home of Mrs. Robert Garber. Mrs. Charles Newcomer served as cohostess. Devotions, centered around the autumn theme, were in charge of Mrs. Richard Wile. There were 29 members and eight guests present. President Mrs. E. Robert Nolt presided at the business session. Items of clothing and a special collection were given to Needlework Guild of Lancaster County, Mrs. Daniel Will was named chairman of the committee to arrange a display table at the Homemaker’s Day November 15. The Society contributed $5O to the County Project, Welch Mountain Medical Center. Officers for 1974 are: Mrs. Charles Newcomer, secretary; Mrs. Mary Greider, treasurer;, Mrs. Elmer Schroll and Mrs.* John Mellinger, delegates to State Convention in January. Miss Mary Atzinger, organ instructor from Lancaster, played selections on the Cord-O- Vox. She explained the various keys and combinations of the instrument. A food auction was held with Mrs, Paul Kauffman as auc tioneer. Society 5 Farm Women Society 5 members toured sites in Hershey on Saturday, October 27. The tour included Founders Hall and the Medical Center, ending with a Dutch treat at Bishop’s. Mrs. Longenecker reported that six representatives from Society 5 helped stuff envelopes for the TB Society. Donations were urged for the bazaar table at the County Convention. The Homemaker’s Christmas program will be held Thursday, November 15 at the Farm and Home Center. Society 5 decided to have an exhibit table. Fruit baskets will be packed at 7 p.m. Monday, November 18 at Evergreen Golf Course. Donations of $lO will be given to the TB Society and to CARE. Annual Society dues were paid. Election of officers was held. New officers are: Mrs. Mervin Peifer, president; Mrs. John Yocum, vice-president; Mrs. Paul Stern, secretary; Miss Kathryn Eichelberger, treasurer; Mrs. Herbert Frey, corresponding secretary. The next meeting will be held November 24 at the home of Mrs. S. G. Longenecker. Society 27 Farm Women Society 27 will be represented at the County Convention by Mrs. Robert Shearer in the Sew-A-Garment Project. Ladies entering this contest will be modeling their dresses for judging. On November 15 the Homemakers Christmas Program will be held at the Farm and Home Center. Society 27 will have a bazaar table of holiday decorations, gifts and food for viewing. The next meeting of Society 27 will be on November 17 when" members will be taking their husbands bowling at Clearview Bowling Lanes.
