Agriculture for International
Affairs and Commodity
Programs, Dr. Carroll G.
Brunthaver, will keynote the 95th
Annual PennAg Industries
Association Convention to be held
in Lancaster September 12, 13,
and 14.
Dr Brunthaver is deeply in
volved in the Agriculture
Department’s efforts to expand
U. S. agricultural exports which
are running at an all-time high.
He believes these exports are a
key to the health of the nation’s
economy

The Penn Willow 4-H Club
showed exhibits at Achievement
Day held at the Farm and Home
Center last Thursday. It was the
Club’s best showing since the

agriculture all his life. He grew
up and worked on his family’s
farm in Ohio. Prior to becoming
Assistant Secretary he held
positions related to agriculture in
business, education and govern
ment.
PennAg represents many types
of agribusiness throughout
Pennsylvania. The convention
will be held at the Host Corral in
Lancaster. An attendance of 300
is expected to attend the event.

Three 4-H’ers from Penn
Willow won reserve champion
ribbons for sewing. They were:
Shelly Stekervetz, Diane Warfel
and Julie Sourbeer.
There were also 10 4-H’ers from
the Penn Willow Club who
received blue ribbons. They
were: Carol Cambell, Teresa
Dagen, Kim Fritz, Donna Walton,
Sharon McCauley, Shelly
Sangrey, Diana Warfel, Wendy
Huber, Ruth Sheesley and Linda
Huber.
