Brunthaver, will keynote the 95th Annual PennAg Industries Association Convention to be held in Lancaster September 12, 13, and 14. Dr Brunthaver is deeply in volved in the Agriculture Department’s efforts to expand U. S. agricultural exports which are running at an all-time high. He believes these exports are a key to the health of the nation’s economy As Assistant Secretary he oversees the Department of Agriculture’s trade and export The Penn Willow 4-H Club showed exhibits at Achievement Day held at the Farm and Home Center last Thursday. Dr. Bruthaver has been in agriculture all his life. He grew up and worked on his family’s farm in Ohio. Prior to becoming Assistant Secretary he held positions related to agriculture in business, education and govern ment. PennAg represents many types of agribusiness throughout Pennsylvania. The convention will be held at the Host Corral in Lancaster. An attendance of 300 is expected to attend the event. Willow Wins Achievement Penn At cooking. In the cooking exhibits Karen Huber received a champion ribbon, Diana Warfel a blue ribbon, and Shelly Stekervetz a white ribbon. Sandy Dagen was awarded a blue ribbon for her photography exhibit. Jeff Fritz, Wayne Huber and Dean Martin received white ribbons In vegetables, Wendy Fritz won a reserve champion for her exhibit. Three 4-H’ers from Penn Willow won reserve champion ribbons for sewing. They were: Shelly Stekervetz, Diane Warfel and Julie Sourbeer. There were also 10 4-H’ers from the Penn Willow Club who received blue ribbons. They were: Carol Cambell, Teresa Dagen, Kim Fritz, Donna Walton, Sharon McCauley, Shelly Sangrey, Diana Warfel, Wendy Huber, Ruth Sheesley and Linda Huber. Sandy Dagen, Rebecca Berrier and Carol Huber received red ribbons. Julie Sourbeer, Linda Huber and Yvonne Johnson received white ribbons. In rabbit competition, Roger Ober and Brenda Huntzinger received blue ribbons.
