Omaha Cattle
Thursday, July 5
Compared with last week’s
close: During the holiday period,
prices on slaughter steers ad
vanced 50c and heifers were 25-
50c higher with many at the full
advance. Cows closed 25-50 c
higher, bulls weak. Feeder cattle
sold fully steady.
Three day receipts 11,500 as
compared 20,000 for four days
previous week and 12,200 a year

liberal percentage Choice and a
number of loads high-Choice and

percent and feeders a short 15
percent. Slaughter operations
interrupted at mid-week by 4th of
July holiday but demand good by
most buying interests. Supplies
moderate but some slaughterers
have adjusted operations to
reduced quotas in view of the
modest volume of market-ready
cattle available and the con

live prices and carcass

for cattle to be slaughtered at
points outside immediate Omaha
