Best demand on Choice and Prime grades. Cows 50-75 lower, bulls weak to 50 lower. Feeder cattle fully steady. Four day receipts 16,700 as compared with 16,350 previous week and 18,300 a year ago. Slaughter steers approximately 37 percent, heifers 34 percent, cows 12 percent and feeders 14 percent. For the first time since April, slaughter steer and heifer prices closed lower. The decline was triggered by expanded receipts early in the week and further influenced by a depressed carcass trade. Sharply curtailed receipts at midweek provided only limited stimulation price wise except for moderate strength on heifers A poor day to-day distribution saw ap proximately 42 percent of the supply arrive on Tuesday.
