Finns Develop
Soy Substitute
41%-42%
TOO FEW
45-47
Researchers in Finland have
developed a protein substitute for
soybeans to feed their hogs, cows
and chickens, according to a
report from the American Dairy
Association.
The substance, called pekilo
protein, is manufactured-from
the waste liquor - previously just
a water pollutant - that comes
from paper pulp mills. Large
scale production for livestock
feed is expected to start- next
year, and it is expected that the
product may be used to feed
humans in the near future.
