Area cows took most of the top prizes in Brown Swiss competition at the Farm Show. The grand championship female, left was shown by Mrs. Chester Raught, Buttonwood Farms, Birchrunville in Chester County. Buttonwood animals also won champion bull, senior champion female and junior and reserve junior champion female. Donald Trimble, left showed the reserve grand champion female. The Herrs were, as usual, well represented both at the show and in the winner's circle. In carcass lamb competition, the family captured first, third and fifth places. Lancaster Farming, Saturda; Linda Kauffman, left, exhibited the top cow in the 4-to-5 year-old class for Holsteins at the Pennsylvania Farm Show this week. Linda is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kauffman, Elizabethtown Rl. Russel Kline, below, of Reinholds, displayed the top heifer calf in the junior division of Holstein competition at the Farm Show. Kline also finished second in the same class in the open division.
