34—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, January 8, 1972 FFA Youths to Receive Keystone Degree (Continued from Page 33) James Kreider Elizabethtown Chapter James Kreider, Elizabethtown RDI, is a son of Mr and Mrs. Wilmer H, Kreider He works with his father on the home farm James is presently serving the Elizabethtown FFA Chapter as sentinel He previously has held the offices of reporter and assistant treasurer His farming program consists of two Holstein cows, five Holstein heifers, seven sows, one boar, 32 fattening swine, and four acres of corn Fred W. Edwards Solanco Chapter Fred W Edwards, son of Mr and Mrs Herman D Edwards, Quarryville RDI, is a senior at Solanco High School and is president of the Solanco High School and is president of the Solanco FFA Chapter Edwards has participated in many school activities and is currently treasurer of the senior class In the FFA, he has par ticipated in many activities on the local and state level He represented Solanco FFA at the National FFA Leadership Conference in Washington, D C during the summer of 1971 Edwards projects have in cluded Holstein and Brown Swiss heifers as well as steers He is presently working on the Howard E Groff farm near Quarryville Gary L Buchen, Manheim RD3, is a son of Mr and Mrs Clyde M Buchen Gary served the Manheim Chapter one year as reporter and one year as vice president His farming program consists of 20 fattening hogs, one beef fattening animal and has five dairy animals Gary received a silver medal on the county level for his FFA Project Book, a bronze medal on the state level for his Project Book, and received a bronze medal for livestock judging at Penn State during FFA Week activities. He was elected a delegate for the Lancaster County Swine Producers Association. He also served in the office of chaplain on the Parliamentary Procedure team. Gary Stauffer Grassland Chapter 814 lITITZ PIKE, LITITZ, PA. i2i-20»l Stauffer’s FFA activities in clude receiving the Red Rose degree, the Chapter agribusiness Foundation award, gold medal for Record Book contest on the area and the state level, chair man of the Chapter community service, student advisor of the local Chapter, and a member of state and county activities. Stauffer lists his outside ac tivities as being a member of the Metzler Mennonite church and a member of the Metzler Gospel stewards. Dennis Landis is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Landis, Willow Street RD2. A member of the Penn Manor FFA Chapter, he received the Greenhand Degree, Star Green Hand Degree, Chapter Degree, and the Red Rose Degree. Offices held include: president of the junior FFA, president of the Parliamentary Procedure team and chairman of various committees in ninth grade; president of Parliamentary Procedure team, a county delegate and chairman of the banquet committee fin 10th } grade, vice president of local FFA Chapter and treasurer of the County FFA in 11th grade, and is Dennis Landis Penn Manor Chapter serving as president of the local Chapter this year. For two years Dennis went to the State FFA Convention at Penn State University, and also went to the National FFA Con vention in Kansas City. (Continued on Page 40)
