As compared to the previous week, slaughter steers ended 50 - 1.00, instances 1.25 lower. Slaughter heifers prices advanced on Monday, but declined the remainder of the period ending 25-50, instances 75 lower. Cows were mostly 50 -1.00, instances 1.50 higher with Commercial and Cutter grade cows showing the greatest up turns. Bulls ended strong to 50 higher. Supply consisted mainly of High Good and Choice slaughter steers and heifers, with a few loads of Mixed Choice and Prime grades available. Six-week upward spiral in fed cattle prices halted abruptly as a consequence of downward plunging carcass trade.
