Saddle Cinches 4-H Club Meets The Saddle Cinches 4-H Horse and Pony Club held a Thanksgiving covered-dish social November 19 at the Farm and Home Center Sixty-one persons attended The guests were the members and leaders of the Ehzabethtown- Donegal 4-H Community Club Also present were Miss Joan D Lucas, assistant Extension home economist, and Jay W. Irwin, assistant Lancaster County ag agent The evening started out with a friendly welcome by Mrs. Kenneth Borry, prayer by Eugene Wenger, covered-dish supper by Mrs. Eugene Wenger and Mrs Tyrus Keeney, in troductions by Kenneth Borry, and the program by Glenn Eshelman The program was a slide and music presentation by Mr. and Mrs. Eshleman. They presented, narrated and produced it. It was called “Almost m Paradise”. The club is having a Roller Skating party at 7 p.m. December 9 at the Mt Gretna Roller Rink. Limited tickets will also be sold at the door. 42 Third Graders Tour Dairy Farm The Manor Young Fanners Association last Friday hosted 42 school children from the Fred Esheleman Elementary School third grade. The youngsters were taken to Pine View Farm, New Danville, where they toured the jug milk operation of John and Larry Hess. The program was sponsored in conjunction with Farm-City Week, according to Melvin L. Shertzer, Association reporter. A highlight of the tour was when each youngster had a chance to pet a baby calf, Shertzer said. 23
