Bergstrasse Busy Bees
The first business meeting of
the Bergstrasse Busy Bees 4-H
Club was held June 23 at the
Bergstrasse Lutheran Church.
The meeting was opened by
the club president, Janice Zeiset,
leading the club pledge.
The club picnic was discussed
and a food committee was elect
ed. The picnic will be held July
6 at 10 a.m. at the Bergstrasse
Lutheran Church

The Elm-Penryn Sewing 4-H
Club met at the Manheim Cen
tral Junior High School at 1
p m Wednesday, June 23
The club discussed a possible
bake sale and where to go on a
trip.
Then in groups, the leader
showed how to straighten fabric
and how to pin patterns. Then
refreshments were served
The next meeting is 1 pm
Tuesday, July 20 at the Man
heim Central Junior High
School.

Penn Willows 4-H Club
The Penn Willow Community
Club and the foods projects
clubs had a combined meeting
at 11 a.m June 30 The Cook
ing-Over-Coals Club prepared

and fruit kabobs.
This was served by the 15
members of the Club to our
County Extension home econo
mist Miss Joan Lucas, five
guests from Wisconsin, and four
leaders.

guests a nutrition quiz
Members will meet individual

Lincoln Community 4-H
The monthly meeting of the
Lincoln Community 4-H Club
was held at 8 pm. June 22 at
the Glenn Wissler Farm.

Elm-Penryn Sewing Club
The Elm-Penryn 4-H Sewing
Club met at 1 p.m. June 29 at
the Manheim Junior High
School.
For Fun Day, it was decided
to go to Spring Lake to swim
on July 21. Meet at the Penryn
Fire Hall. Rain date is July 28.
Two girls were elected to be
4-H queens. Junior queen is
Martha Bomberger and the
senior queen is Betsy Bomberg
er.
After group meetings, re
freshments were served by Joan
and Janic£ Lapp and Carol
Ebersole.
The next meeting will be at
1 p.m. July 6 at the Manheim

Thirty nine members were
present at the weekly meeting
of the Classy Clipper 4-H Sew
ing Club. Following singing,
games, and the business meet
ing, demonstrations .were pre
sented by Sara Roth, Jaylene
Irwin, Suzanne Irwin, -Ruth
Ann Irwin and Suzanne Arnold.
The club will meet in Hemp
field High School from 9 to 11
a.m. Wednesday, June 30.

Kookie Kooks 4-H Club
The second meeting of the
Penn Manor Kookie Kooks was
held Wednesday, June 30 at the
Penn Manor Middle School
Home Economics room.
The meeting was called to
order by saying the 4-H pledge.
In answer to the secretary’s roll
call members cited their fa
vorite food.
Under new business, the club
elected 4-H queens. Junior
queen Susan Eckenrod and
senior queen Judy Thomas will
represent the club.
Then the club divided into
groups. The senior girls made
meat balls (Polpettine) and
green salad. The younger girls
made corn bread and tuna
salad.
The next meeting will be
held at 11 a.xn. July 7.

The Elm-Penryn 4-H Club
held a meeting at the Penryn
Fire Hall recently. Family
night, where parents could sit
and listen while the meeting
took place, was also held the
same night.
The fund raising campaign
was a success. The Club was
presented a check for selling
