Some Area and State Award Winners at the Chester Co. Mushrooms Chester County, as usual, took all the top placings in mush room production this year at the Farm Show. Dick King, Nottingham RD2, exhibited the best display of fancy white mushrooms and Richard King, Oxford RD2, en tered the best exhibit of white button mushrooms. Tops Apples The Fianklin County Hoiti cultuial Association captuied first place in the county apple exhibit at the 55th Faim Show This marks the eighth consecu tive year that the Franklin County gioweis have taken top honois in apple judging com petition The Fianklin County Hoiti cultuial Association was ,also named lecipient of the Gabnel Hiester Award for the best col lective display of apples Kutztown Wins in Poultry The Kutztown FFA Chapter at Kutztown Area High School, Berks County, again won the Farm Show Commission’s award foi chapter-owned poul try flock at the 55th Pennsyl vania Farm Show The Kutz town Chapter has taken the award at each of the last eight Pennsylvania Farm Shows Earl P Zmn, Hanover RDS, Adams County, placed first in the trio class This was the only class that kept Kutztown FFA from sweeping the voca tional classes Small Grains Winner Jeffrey L Carl Hanover, Yoik County, captured the champion ship in oats classes at the 55th Farm Show His winning entry was a sample of Chntland. Carl also won first places in the winter oats, buckwheat, and lye divisions The champion bailey sample was exhibited by J E Lanius, York RD3, last year’s winner. Donald W Nace, Spring Grove RD3, York County had the best led clover sample.
