A brief film illustrated an ir rigation disposal system being studied at Penn State Univer sity. The local group then conduct ed a panel discussion of needs for community planning, en vironmental control, and selec tion of disposal sj stems that are economical, adequate, and sanitary according to the solid waste disposal and clean stream laws The Manheim panel membeis discussed such iactois as why an individual staits fanning, what conti ibutes to his success as a faimei, what his fannlv conti ibutes, and the lole of finance Chosen because of their own success in fanning, the men discussed the problems from the standpoint of their own experience. The convention theme was “Agucultuie is Demanding, but Rewaiding and Expanding” Following the Thursday after noon discussion topics, the con ference was concluded with a banquet in the evening Special programs were also planned for the wives The convention began Wednesday with executive meet ings foi the state officeis.
