Speaking at the banquet for
670 persons, Tuesday evening,
November 26, Secretary Lyng
cautioned the people who ex
pect to have immediate pro
grams “pulled out of a hat” to
solve the agricultural dilemma
that faces this nation.
The 116 delegates, represent
ing 3300 dairy farmers in Dela
ware, Maryland, New Jersey
and Pennsylvania, passed a re
solution on Wednesday, Novem
ber 26, recommending that In
ter-State take the initiative to
study milk hauling problems for
the purpose of improving the
dairy farmers’ position in the
marketing place.
Ivan Yost, President of the
Pennsylvania Young Farmers
Association, expressed to those
attending the Cooperative’s an
nual meeting the need of re
cognition given by the Coopera
tive of young dairy farmers
Yost said that Intei-State is a
“pace setter” for others to fol
low with its program for young
farmers
