A huge crowd estimated at
600 persons was on hand Wed
nesday morning for the annual
Dairy Show held at the New
Holland Sales Stables. As usual,
a milky group of show cows
were assembled for the inspec
tion of nationally famous judge
John McKitrick from Columbus,
Ohio, and when the final plac
ings were announced, H. D.
Matz’s three-year-old Thornlea
Textal Supreme daughter was
the grand champion and his
four-year-old Rockdale Presi
dent cow was the second place
animal.

In all, seven cows sold from
$1,060 to $2,400 and the top 25
head averaged $995. The top 50
head averaged $835 and the top
100 cows averaged $7lO.

dent of the Society of Farm
Women of Pennsylvania, will in
stall the newly elected County
officers and local society offi
cers elected for 1970 at recent
local elections. The program
will conclude with the theme
song “Brighten the Corner
Where You Are.”
Dr. Fredeick P Sample, pre
sident of the Lebanon Valley
College, will addiess the conven
tion on the topic “Youth-Yester
day, Today and Tomorrow”
