Chicago Cattle Weekly Review CATTLE WEEKLY Com pared with last weeks close, all slaughter classes steady, except cows steady to 50 lower. Local receipts 22,600, largest for any week since mid-Dec. of last year, compared with 19,300 last week, and 20,000 a year ago. Supply consisted of 73 percent slaughter steers, 22 percent heifers and the balance mainly cows. Overall finish of slaughter steers was the same as last week with 10 percent Prime and 78 percent Choice, and practically the same as last years 10 per cent Prime and 77 percent Choice Average cost and weight of slaughter steers, estimated at 28 40, highest since April 1966 and 1140 lbs. compared with 28.- 15 and 1135 lbs. last week, and 26 26 and 1156 lbs a year ago. Heifer supply largely High Good to low Prime, weighing 825-1050 lbs. SLAUGHTER STEERS— Prime 1200-1350 lbs. Yield Grade 3 and 4 30.00-30.75, load 1300 lbs Monday 31 25, highest since April, 1966.
