Be it RESOLVED, That Lancaster County Pomona Grange #7l meeting in regulai session go on record as opposed to any legislation increasing the load limit for trucks on either inter state or state roads. (2) WHEREAS, The surtax re cently enacted is a tax paid largely by the average tax-pay er who is already overtaxed. And WHEREAS, The same re venue could probably be realiz ed by an excess profit tax on corporations. Be it RESOLVED, That we favor the abolition of the surtax and substitute an excess profit tax in its stead. • (3) WHEREAS, There has bee* introduced into the General As sembly, legislation to permit the sales of liquor on Sunday in establishments that do at least 55% of their business in food sales WHEREAS, The legislation has already passed the Senate and is waiting approval in the House WHEREAS. This legislation provides for the sale of liquor on Sunday between the hours of 1 P M and 10 P M The only restrictions is that a favorable county-wide referendum must be taken before the sales can be gin WHEREAS, Sunday sales are very objectionable but the change from a municipal to a county-wide basis is a very dan gerous precedent Therefore be it RESOLVED, That Lancaster Co Pomona Grange #7l go on record as opposing any change in the procedure of holding re ferendum to a county-wide basis and also we are opposed to sell ing liquor on Sunday any place and any time Joseph Hess was elected for a three year term on the Execu tive committee and Richard Holloway for a three year term on the Finance committee The following committees were appointed for the year Home Economics Mrs Rich ard Maule, Mrs Alfred Wanner Sr and Mrs Thomas Galbreath.
