winners Each boy was required
to state his name, number of
years in 4-H and the projects fie
has completed; they had to ap
pear on the stage in bathing
suits, and each one had to ans

GARDEN SPOT COMMUNITY
The Garden Spot Community
4-H Club met on Monday Even
ing, Sept. 9 at the Smoketown
Elementary School The club
touied the Intelligencer Journal
building. Mr Joe Kuntz and - Mr.
Roger Clark were the guides
who showed them through the
newsroom, advertisement,
photography and the printing
rooms They were told manv in
teresting facts some of which
are that the newspaper office
uses 8 rolls of paper a day and
they weigh approximately 1600
lbs, they print 48,000 papers
and hour and have 450 full time
employees and 1200 carnei
boys They also print the York
Sunday News
Following the tour thev had a
short business meeting. Mr. Jay
Irwin and Mr. Risser gave some
comments There was a com
mittee picked to plan the next
meeting which will be a Hallo
ween Party, and it will be held
on Oct. 18th at 7 30 at the home
of Harold Ruhl Come in cos
