family picnic with each mem
ber bringing a covered dish on
July 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Paradise
Memorial Park.

at the Refton Fire Hall by So
ciety #l7. Hostesses were Mrs.
Ira Holchauer, Mrs Howard
Frank, Mrs. John Harnish, and
Mrs. Landis Kreider.
Mrs. Ernest Shaub, vice pres
ident, presided at the meeting.
Devotions were led by Mrs. Hol
chauer.

Forgotten Vacation Expenses
When estimating the cost of your summer
vacation, include these items, if they apply to
your plans:
Admission fees to museums, national
parks, and other tourist attractions. These vary
from place to place.
Poit fees. Some foreign poits levy a
special tax on boat passengers when they em
bark or disembark.
Boarding pets. Dogs cost more to board
than cats.
Green fees. If you’re a golfer, include this
expense in your budget.
Laundiy. Inexpensive if you use coin
operated machines.
Passports. You can save
money by putting the entile
family on one passpoit if you
intend to stay together on the
trip.
Souvenirs and gifts.
Garden care. To keep your at
home yaid tended, you may
have to hire someone for grass
cutting and weeding.
Deduct the sura you would
spend at home for food, enter
tainment, and other expenses
from your expected vacation
budget. The remainder repre
sents the extra amount the vaca
tion will cost.
Hearty Cold Plates
Chilled tuna, deviled eggs,
garnishes of cranberry sauce,
lemon wedges, and dill pickles
Sardines, deviled eggs, sliced
tomatoes, potato salad, lemon
wedge.
Family
Shi imp (maiinated in French
dressing), sliced tomatoes, cel
ery, upe olives, cheese squares,
sweet pickles.
Salmon chunks, onion rings,
pickled beets, hard-cooked eggs,
aspaiagus spears.
Chicken salad, thick tomato
slice, potato salad, cucumber
fingers, celery curls.
Swiss cheese, salmon, salad,
potato chips, sickled beets.
Seived on chilled plate, gar
nished with salad greens. Serve
hot lolls, cornbread, or bread
sticks with your cold plate.
