Outshipments were about 29 per cent above the comparable period a year earlier. Placements in the 22 major producing states totaling 44,- 188,000 chicks decreased 1 percent from the previous week but advanced 1 percent from a year earlier. The 10- teek total increased 6 per cent from last year. Settings of 61,102,000 were up 3 per cent from the previous week and 5 percent from a year ago.
