Weekly Broiler PLACEMENTS INCREASE Placements of broiler chicks in the Keystone State during the week ending Jan. 23, to taled 759,000, according to the Pennsylvania Crop Reporting Service, The placements in creased 12 per cent from the previous week and 16 percent fiom a year ago Settings for broiler chicks totaling 1,510,000 increased 5 per cent from the previous week and 16 per cent from a year earlier. The cur rent 3-week total of eggs set increased 21 per cent from last year. Inshipments of broiler-type chicks during the past 10 weeks totaled 259,000 or 52 per cent below the com parable period in 1963-64. Out shipments (2,101,000) were about 7 per cent above the comparable period a year ago. Placements in the 22 major producing states totaling 39,- 619,000 chicks increased 2 per cent from the previous week and 8 per cent from a year earlier. .The 10-week total in creased 2 per cent from last year.
