Only two lots of broilers containing a total of 12,500 birds were offered and sold at bids of 15.0 and 15.5 for a sale average of 15.30. The previous week’s sale sold no broilers .following the Dec. 12 auction ■when broilers went down to 12 ■cents. At this week’s auction three lots of 2,450 roasters brought 21 to 22 cents. Demand was good for the light auction offerings. Ready to cook demand increased to a fair to good position and prices on the low side were on prior committments. Estimated slaughter by eas tern shore processors for the week end was 880,000 head compared to the 622,000 head last week end Delmarva reported prices of 14.2 to 15.5 for 964,000 head at farms during the period, including 39 2,000 head offered and sold at Thursday’s auc tion in Selbyville, Del. Largest percentage of the sales were at 14 5 to 14 9 The Delmarva broiler-feed ratio for the week ending December 20 was down one point from the previous week at 2.4.
