Chairman has been announced by Thomas H. Patton, State Chairman and' Associate Director of Co-opera tive Extension Service, Penn jsylvania State University. Smith will be in charge of this year’s county observances,' which will place emphasis on' urban and farm folks as part- Farm-City Week is aimed at getting a better understand ing between the farm and non farm families in the Common wealth. Special events are plan ned where farm and city peo ple can get together, exchange ideas, express their problems and witness their basic simil arities. These events are spon sored by local representatives of agriculture, government, education and civic groups. This is the ninth consecu tive Farm-City Week to be ob served in Pennsylvania. This year’s theme is “Farm and City Partners for a Pros perous Pennsylvania.” Empha sis will be placed on pointing out that the 'farmers and city l people are heavily dependent upon each other for their bas ic needs of foods, shelter -and clothing. -The objective of the 1963 event is to -stress 'the 'impor tance of agriculture and buei J ness to the farm and city peo ple alike throughout Lancas ter County.
