LANCASTERPOULTRYCEHTIR Prices Down One Cent Volume was about steady but prices slumped slightly more than a cent a pound on live broilers at the February 21 auction at the Lancaster Poultry Center. A total of 82,575 broilers in 17 lots sold at prices of 16.2 to 17.2 for an average of 16. 93 compared to the 18 05 at the previous week’s sale. 'Three lots of 1,894 heavy fowl brought 21 to 21.5 and one lot of 450 pullets sold for 25 1. All birds on offer were sold. A total of 85,045 head m 21 lots were offered and sold. The top lot of broilers was 7,000 White Vantress at 9 weeks 2 days consigned by E>. E. Horn and Company, Richard E. Myers, grower, and purchas ed by Carl B. Risser. At the corresponding sale last year 14 lota containing 58,800 broilers sold at prices ranging 18.7 to 21 5 for a sale average of 19 09. At the Thursday auction in Selbyville, Del. broilers averag ed 16 54 The Delmarva broiler-feed ratio for the week ending Feb. 15 was up one point to 3 5. Broilers averaged 17.20 and mash cost the grower $99.06 per ton. The ratio for the comparable week a year ago was 3.7 when broilers averaged 17 32 and 20 per cent mash cost the grower $93 68 per ton.
