LANCASTER POULTRY CENTER Broilers Gain Strength Broiler prices gained back some of the strength they lost last week as 112,750 head in 21 lots changed hands at prices of 1G 1 to 17.1 for a sale average ot 16 26. Only two lots in addition to the broilers were sold, these were 2,850 leghorn fowl which brought 9 2 and 9 8. Three lots of broilers on offer failed to sell at the offer ed price of 15 8 and 15 9 Two lots containing 625 heavy fowl did not sell at a 14.3 bid. The high bid on broilers was for 1750 White Vantress at 10 weeks two days, con signed by Norman B. Kready and pm chased by Martin Brendle The complete October 11 auction offered 128,825 head in 28 lots and sold 115,600 head in 23 lots. The Delmarva broiler-feed ratio for the week ending Octobei 5, was down four points from the previous week at 3 2 Broilers drunng the week averaged 15 32 per pound and mash cost the grow er $94 63 per ton.
