Hog cholera, a virus disease
that affects only hogs, costs
the United States about $5O
million a year. It kills more
pigs past weaning age than
any other single disease. Eradi

sought for many years by
swine and meat - producting

The cooperative eradication
program calls foi increasing
hog cholera vaccination im

quarantining and disposing of
infected and exposed swine
herds, disinfecting premises
and vehicles, and regulating
