Mrs Brown also showed two films from the Cancer Society Donations were made by the society of farm women to the American Cancer Society and to the Lancaster Heart Haven. Free man a three part program for market stabilization which includes a national marketing order for potatoes a proposal that national ac reage allotments be applied, and a proposal that market ing quotas be used on a nationwide basis. The Committee recom mended that Congress be asked to approve acreage allotments for potato .grow ers, with penalties for grow ers who plant more than their allotments permit The proposal does not include a recommendation for price support for potatoes. In its recommendation, the Committee proposed that in dividual allotments be based upon historical record, and that farms producing two acres or less of potatoes be exempt It was proposed that acreage allotments in the program be established on a national basis, then broken down into State, county and farm units The Committee also asked that 1962 not.be WITH ©EH® Phone Lane.
