Lane Poultry Center Prices Up, Volume Slumps The increasing prices of the past several weeks fail ed to impress growers suffi ciently to cause large mar ketings at the Lancaster Poultry Center this week The December 28 auction moved only 13,550 broilers in four lots, even though thg price range of 17.5 to 18.0 was up nearly three-quart ers of a cent from last week The sale average was 17 80 cents per pound Seven lots of 8,000 pullets crossed the block at 22 and 24 cents while the 2,450 roasters in five lots brought prices of 22 to 22 2.
