Fate again took the cham pionship away from the Hos ier farm when a steer bred on the farm was drawn for club work by a cousin, Glen Foreman Foreman took the steer all the way to the state Championship at the Penn sylvania Farm Show in ’6O Last fall Wilbur put a half brother of the state champion on feed and saw him waddle to the winner’s circle Wednesday night Judge Jack Phillips, from the Animal Husbandry De partment of the Pennsylvan ia State University, placed the 1050 pound black, nam ed “Paunchy” for his ten dency to fill out in the mid dle, over the Hereford of Jay Bixler, Marietta Rl Bixler, the 16-year old son of Mr and Mrs Lewis E Bixler, exhibited his 1000 pound steer “Shorty” to the championship of his breed and reserve honors of the show Shorty was bred at Poca Dot Farms at Charles town, West Virginia Bixler garnered his re serve rosette in his first year of showing He is a junior in vocational agriculture at Donegal High School Two other Hosiers got in to the limelight at the show when Michael had the fattest steer of the show and Robert showed the champion Shor thorn.
