Supply plenty of clean, fresh water. Adequate water helps insure a good feed intake. \ During the hot months laying hens should be provided with at least 8-10 linar feet of water space per 100 birds. 2 Ventilate. Insure a constant change of air in the laying house. An in side temperature of 70-75° is ideal. Use of fans, white-washing of exteriors, spraying of roofs, anything which keeps birds comfortable will pay big dividends during a hot spell. 3. Peed supplementary pellets which are high in protein and other nu trients essential for optimum egg ; production. Supplementary pel'ets (Early-Bird High Producer Pellets) will increase daily feed consumption and help provide an abundance of minerals and vitamins even if feed consumption is less. Peed crumbles in conjunction with highly fortified pellets during ex tremely hot periods. Normally hens will consume more crumbles than mash, NOTE; When weather turns cooler you can put them back on mash if you do it gradually.
