cream cheese
Vfc pint cream
I cup crushed pineapple
Vfc cup finely chopped
celery
Dissolve ge’atin When
slightly thickened, add celery
and pineapple. Mix thorough
ly and add cheese and cream
whipped together. Turn into
a mold

RED 'N WHITE PARE AIT
1 cup canned or frozen
tart red cherries with juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon flour
Dash salt
Vz cup cranberry juice
1 egg yolk
IVz quarts vanilla ice
cream.

Using electric mixer or
blender beat cherries and
juice unti 1 pulpy; set aside.
In saucepan combine sugar,
flour and salt; stir in cran
berry juice and cherries.
Cook over medium heat,
stirring constantly, until
mixture reaches simmering
point Remove from heal;
blend a few tablespoonfuls
of cherry mixture with the
egg yolk and return to cher
ry mixture. Return to heat;
cook, stirring constantly, 3
to 4 minutes Chill. When
ready to serve place a table
spoon of sauce in bottom of
each parfait glass Top with
a spoonful of vanilla ice
cream; press down firmly
with back of spoon. Repeat
layers until parfait glasses
are full.

BANANA - CHOCOLATE
PARFAIT
Vz cup mashed banana
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tab’espoon fresh lime
juice"
Dash salt
V* cup whipping cream
Few drops green food
coloring
IV2 quarts vanilla ice
cream
% cup chocolate sauce
In mixing bowl combine
banana, sugar, lime juice and
salt; beat until well blended.
"Whip cream until stiff; fo’d
banana mixture into whipped
cream Add food coloring;
chill. When ready to serve
place a tablespoon of banana
sauce in bottom of each par
fait glass. Top with a spoon
ful of vanilla ice cream;
press down firmly with back
of spoon. Add a tab’espoon
of chocolate sauce; top with
more van!'la ice cream. Re
peat layers until parfait
glasses are full

machines will go on display
next week at the fourth an
nual International - Harvest
er field day.
The thousands of people
expected to attend the event
will be invited to drive the
new diesel tractors and op
erate other machinery.
Lancaster County dealers,
in cooperation with dealers
from Dauphin, Lebanon and
Berks Counties, have reserv
ed a field on the John S. Lan
dis farm along the 230 By
pass at Colebrook Road west
of Lancaster for the gala
event
Plowing demonstrations at
10 00 am on August 3 will
lead off the program which
will include demonstrations
of baler with ba’e throwers,
power forage feeder, field
chopper, field harvester and
mower.
Between the plowing dem
onstration, with both diesel
and gasoline tractors and the
hay making demonstrations
the company will provide a
free lunch for all guests
