Much of the groundwork was done by the Maine Experiment Station where a pilot pro gram has been in operation for about a year. At present there are 80 cooperating poultrymen in that state. The system of record keep ing thus far developed takes into account only egg pro duction and pounds of feed used. Van Wagenen said that plans for future poultry bus iness systems include a com plete bookkeeping system, but the complete develop ment of such a program will probably take two more years. Van Wagenen said poult rymen should be encouraged to keep daily feed records. “Feed consumption ia the first clue to trouble m many cases.’’ he said. Development of the sys tem of record keeping and data processing has been done by a committee of John Bezka Rutgers Poultry Ex tensionist; Harry Whe I den, University of Maine, Poultry Specialist; Elan Smith, York, representing Beacon Milling Co.; Oakley M.
