The grader would be a state em ployee. The proposed grading pro gram was requested by the Pennsylvania Farmers Asso ciation and some members of the Pennsylvania Live stock Auction Assn. However, Moore pointed out, the program might be costly if a large volume of livestock did not come un der grading. Under the proposed set up, livestock of similar wgt and quality would be group ed and permed. A ■ representative of the Lancaster Packing Company expressed strenuous opposi tion on the grounds that a smaller producer would not be able to buy small lots ot slaughter stock. As proposed, the grading would apply only to feeder calves, feeder pigs, veal cal ves and lambs.
