Starting as a freshman with two dairy animals and eight fattening hogs, he now owns twelve purebred Ay shires, six purebred York shire sows, a Tennessee walking horse, 45 shoats, and 100 capons. In his freshman and sophomore years he rented cropland and barn space from his father, but in his junior year he rented a 72-acre farm, on which he raises corn, hay, wheat, tobacco and barley which also are parts of his farm ing project for this year.
