Lamb Growers Urged To Keep Sales Records Chairman Earl Groff of the Pennsylvania Agricultur al Stabi'ization and Conserv ation Committee today re minded wool growers who marketed lambs this fall of the importance of keeping adequate records of their sales. These records are need ed next spring for use ip ap plying for payments under the wool program. “I want to urge, strongly” Mr. Groff said,, “that grow ers get these fall sa'es rec ords together now and either keep them in a safe p ace at home or file them at the county Agricultural Stabiliz ation and Conservation office. Applications fot payments on 1960-61 marketings must be filed by the end of next Ap ril, and may be fifed any time before then.” The Chairman added that 'amb feeders particular’y shou’d keep accurate records on the length of time they have owned a specific lot of lambs Lamb payments are made only to producers who have owned lambs 30 days or more, and the amount of payment is based on weight gain on the lambs during the seller’s ownership. The sales record for lambs sold must include the name of the. buyer, his signature, and the number of live weight lambs sold, plus the description “unshorn.” To encourage the customary practice of selling lambs with the wool on.
