GAP MOUNTVULE The milk code in Pennsy lvania at the present time specifies that whole milk must have 3V4 per cent but terfat while skim milk may not have more than J /z per cent butterfat. The gap in the law does not cover milk with butter fat content ranging between the two, and such product can not be legally called milk. The Justice Department has been asked to rule on the State’s jurisdiction ov er the dairy product in the in-between range after a Pittsburgh firm sought to market a product with two per cent butterfat at a price lower than for whole milk. The product has i>een on the market for several years in 46 of the 50 states. AND See Cope & Weaver Co.
