County Future Farmers Take Big Share of Honors Lancaster County will be well represented next Wed nesday when the Pennsylvania State Association of Future Farmers of America will award its highest degree to 20 young men from the Garden Spot. The Keystone Farmer degree is awarded annually to not more than two percent of the membership in the state With only 196 of the cov erted degrees being given out in the state, Lancaster county captured the lions share. Instead of the propor tionate two percent the county could reasonably ex pect, Future Farmers in the county walked off with over 10 per cent of the total. Six of the degrees were awarded to 'students from Solanco where the teachers of Vocational Agriculture are - Herbert Heberlein, William Fredd and Ralph Bitter; five went to Lampeter Strasburg where George Myer is teach er Two went to each of the following:' Manheim, Joseph McGahen, and Harold Mc- Allister, teachers; Warwick Union, Robert Henney, teach er; and Pequea Valley, Hen ry Givler teacher. One de gree went to students at Penn Manor, Howard Siglin and Garland Gingrich, teach ers; Donegal Union, Grant Miller, teacher; and Cocalico Union, Russell Drumm, teacher The degree based on Far ming records, scho’astic and leadership * accomplishments, and service rendered by the Future Farmers was award ed to the twenty boys for the following Achievements.
