Poultry Center Capettes Sell Good In Face Of Reported Ban Broilers continued to climb and capettes were up at the Lancaster Poultry Center this week even m the face of the report that Welfare Sec retary, Fleming had called for a ban on all poultry treated with the synthetic hormones. However, con tracts this week read that if the ban is lorthcoming, the sale would not be binding upon the buyer. Thirty nine lots of 120,515 birds of 45 lots and 138,065 birds offered were sold. Twenty two lots of 104,675 broilers sold at prices rang ing from 19 through 221 cents with over half the birds bring ng 20 to 20 5. Broiler average for the sale was 20 16. Pullett capettes took a big jump this week when five lots of 6,800 head brought 30.4 to 33.9, and cockerel capettes made 26 9 to 35 9 for 11 lots of 8,540 head.
